The best wedding. Colorful fall day, warm air, warm fire, fun wedding party, popcorn, square dancing, hay wagon, flower dog, tears, full moon, smores, and my personal favorite Prayers and caramel apple bar. Can we party like this every weekend??? Noah and Cierra you are the sweetest couple! I wish you the very best!
I love these two! They are kind, fun, beautiful, and crazy talented! Probably the most talented couples I had the pleasure of photographing.
It was pretty much a perfect day to have a wedding.
SO many details and pretties that I called in back up from Mitch Haarer Photography.
Little farm wedding in mint and coral with rustic touches. While looking at these, don’t forget take a close look at the cake… oh my delicious…
Cake: Cake Thyme
A sweet backyard wedding! I got a bit teary eyed when I relived this wedding in the editing room.
The day started chilly then warmed up to the perfect temperature. The ceremony decor was in the finishing process when i arrived. Across the pond were rows and rows of white chairs under a large tree, a big beautiful tent, and a large beautiful home. Views like this make me warm inside.
The girls were downstairs getting ready and the boys hung out in the tent. The kids were running around the grounds dressed in vintage storybook attire before the ceremony started.
The ceremony.. oh the ceremony! When Kaitlyn walked down the isle, Garrett beamed! When she was finally given away by her father, Garrett held her tight. He also snuck in several temple/cheek/head/hand kisses. =) Thata boy. Kaitlyn surprised Garrett with an absolute beautiful song! Not a dry eye in sight. Even I had to hide behind the tree to wipe a few tears. When the first kiss as husband and wife finally came there was some teasing and laughter and a really nice kiss.
These two were a dream to photograph! The wedding party was so fun and sweet =). Most of them were folks that were near and dear to my heart! I have met a lot of the guests and party at past weddings… three are past brides and grooms and now great friends of mine.
The rest of the day was a blast. I stayed wayyyyy later than normal… I had so much fun dancing and mingling and photographing!
A shout out to the ones who decorated! Amazing job to you! It looked like a professional decorator came in!
Mary (a dear friend) put together the flowers!! The flowers were all grown in family backyards just for the wedding!!! Can you imagine being the lucky one to walk in a field of sunflowers!
And finally! Hair!! Look up Erin Wichman! I have photographed three events that featured her magnificent, whimsical, and detailed hair styles. She did everyone’s hair with grace and speed!
Thank you thank you for allowing me to be apart of this beautiful day!
Drew and Kim!! There are no words to express how awesome they are! I didn’t meet them until the rehearsal so my excitement and curiosity level was immense!! I was rewarded for my patience in meeting them! They satisfied my love tank!
I loved shooting this wedding… You are about to find out why!
The day started at a beautiful hair salon. (Hair-i-tage salon.. clever) It really was a dream to shoot there. It was so pretty that the girls decided to get ready on the third floor suite (it used to be a house!)
(I know you didn’t just pass over those photos without saying…”oh my… she is beautiful!”… yeah… I’m super lucky!)
Drew and Kim chose to see each other before the ceremony. The sweetest first look ever. You could tell that they bring comfort and warmth when they are together.
I was thrilled to be able to shoot a couple hours with this fun group of friends! I’m in love with the abandoned building shoot!
Also! (Get your wedding planners out girls) The bridesmaids did not have flowers… they had teal purses that matched their shoes! How perfect!
The ceremony felt like home. The restaurant set right on the lake. You could walk out to the deck and have a drink. As the sun set almost everyone stood outside to watch the sky turn red and orange behind the sail boats. It was soooo beautiful.
Other ceremony favorite details: The place cards were stamped with cows or fish to remind you what you ordered for the meal. I had the Walleye… I bragged about eating walleye to my friends and family for weeks (they didn’t get my excitement.)
The tortes!! The apple was my favorite but the chocolate was the most popular… yes… i ate one of each. Small pieces…. small. =)
The guest signing tree was super adorable!
They both had perfect smiles! Beyond perfect!
And then my most favorite photo: Amy (Cousin of the groom, a past bride, and now great friend of mine) and I ran a half mile to get to the dock to shoot this before the sun completely disappeared! If your photographer asks to take you outside for a few minutes during golden hour (It can’t be over cast)… go for it. It is the best time of the day for photography! You will get the best photos!
I am the luckiest photographer. Beautiful couple, beautiful light, amazing location, and WHOOT I got some birds in the background!
A special thank you to the dock security guard for running with us to get gates unlocked~ you rock!
Awwww Jake and Jessica!!!
I found myself saying, “SO cute so cute so cute…” The entire time I edited. Because they are so so so cute!
There are a lot of details! So stroll (or scroll) with me….
Handmade invites!!! So adorable!! (so cute so cute so cute)
Special moment for brides maids. The girls didn’t know what the dressed looked like. What a sweet surprise for them!
First look in the field! Loved!! They are so so so cute!!! While they took a moment to embrace… the clouds started to roll in. Thunder in the background and a cool breeze followed. No rain at this point though.. it really added to the beauty of this nature themed wedding.
A photographers dream! I was given nearly two hours to play with this group! Let me inspire you to do the same:
So cute so cute!! You are saying it too!
This is one of my favorite alternatives to the unity candle! I wish I had done this when I got married! One of my most favorite parts of the ceremony was when wedding guests came up to bless Jake and Jessica together! Emotional!
The bouquet toss! The single ladies got little handmade flags with their names on it to put on the lawn… the flowers will land next to the winning flag! And… slingshot bouquets are a must!
Fun Videographer’s! Check them out!!! Lane and Mindy Gordon from Vintage Story Books
