a little artsy fartsy stuff:

“Hello… Is it me you’re looking for… I can see it in your eyes… I can see it in your smile … ” Yeah… I have that song stuck in my head today.

I MISSED MY READERS!!! All three of ya.

So I have two weddings and two engagements to show you!
Yes… I am behind too.
Can’t help it…
I have an awesome little son and he’s just taking my time and making it precious.
myyyyy preeeeeeciouuuus….. can’t help myself!!! AHHHH!!!! I MISS BLOGGING!

I just spent some time in Maryland with my dear cousins! Speaking of missing…. i miss them. I am going to make a point to visit more often…. I love Maryland too. I think I found like three new places to live while I was there.
There was snow, and cold, and heated floors, and horses, and wine, and kid hugs, and gourmet food, and chicken in a dish. It was a good time.

One of the reasons we were in Maryland was MAX AND NINA are getting married and I had the pleasure of taking their engagement photos! I am just melting with joy right now! I bet you want to see these…. well…. here they are: ENJOY! Because I did.

Ps. No doubt they will have beautiful children… for real.

Had to share this… It was all kinds of cute:

bicycle built for two: Engagement Alisha & Jeremiah

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog, I know… I promise this is a good one! After an early fall rain the sky and trees are the most beautiful. So you could imagine my excitement when arriving to our shooting location with Alisha and Jeremiah… however, with beauty comes shorter days… These two were so ready to be set in front of the camera… so we were able to make the most of the day with the quick setting sun. It also helps that they are very good looking and lovable too!

A winter wedding is set for them this year! I can’t wait to see them again!

In need of a Fantastic home

With baby Perry in our lives, all of our attention has been focused on him. Before Perry our life revolved around two little dogs… Fiona and Puggy. Both amazing dogs. Each with distinct personalities, both cuddly, calm, active, healthy, friendly, & smart. Only one flaw stands in our way of living a peaceful life. They are both dominant and do not like each other. Fighting has led to years of training… preparation for Perry has led to inconsistency then doggie separation. Puggy lives upstairs and Fiona lives downstairs.
My heart breaks for Puggy… being so laid back and in need of less care, she has been put on the back burner when it comes to love. We walk her and let run in the fields every other day, however, that’s not enough… she needs to be snuggled, loved, played with, and talked to. After months and months of putting this off I finally have made the decision to really try to find her a home.

her likes: walks, being picked up, looking out the window, treats, rough housing, toys, sleeping under the covers, soft warm places, outdoors, laps, rides in the car or on the fourwheeler. She gets along with other dogs: preferably larger dogs. And she gets along with any cat that is tolerant of a curious dog (her favorite cat friend is Baxter.. who is a little larger than her and picks on her ). She doesn’t enjoy baths but she does well with them. She listens to stern voices. She knows: “go to your pen”, “sit”, “lay down”, ” out”, “outside”, and “speak”… and many random words… especially in question form. She stays in the yard as long as you show her boundaries. That takes lite training. Does not dig unless it is hot or she is chasing something… but it is very rare… she has never killed anything… well except a bug or two.
She doesn’t dig and she rarely barks (mail man gets her panting and sometimes she will bark when someone pulls in the driveway… well… if she is paying attention)

Downfalls: she likes quiet places.. yelling scares her, doesn’t like spankings… will spook her… a good stern voice always does the trick with her. She chases wheels… a little kid on a big wheel may feel threatened (our fault… we used the fourwheeler as a source of exercise.. she enjoyed chasing it.). We really don’t know how she would react with kids… she enjoys quiet time and doesn’t like to be poked, pinched, and grabed by someone she doesn’t know (me neither). But for the most part she will ignore kids. She shows no interest in Perry. She loves all people though.

Breed: Puddin’ Jack Russell Terrier (short legged and miniature). Brindle Coloring.
Age: 9 years young (Healthy JRTs live to be about 16) We owned her since she was 4 weeks (2.5 pounds!)
Shots updated
One surgery by eye from dog fighting with Fiona and one surgery to check intestines (reaction to corn based food)
Dog food brand: Diamond lamb or chicken

Why we chose her: She’s the easiest to take care of. I know she will be treated well with her easy going nature.

If you know anyone that is interested or if you are and you would like to give her a trial run please email me:

Here is a video of her playing with daniel. She likes to rough house with men =)

I wanted to post these like,…. last week. Sorry for getting behind on blogs.

With the pregnancy comes napping…. and lots of it. =)

It really has been the perfect weather to shoot lately. Not too hot and not too cold… I actually wore a sweater a couple times. But! The MOSQUITOES! I cannot get over how terrible they have been this year… geez.

Autumn and Destiny are sisters and booked their family sessions about a week apart from each other so I thought I would share them both with you!

Oliver is a little ball of energy! And a typical boy with one heck of a story tell when he’s older: He saw ZZTOP (or Z-top is what Oliver calls them) in concert before the age of 2!!! Really!! Very impressive. Very.

Little girls are a dream to shoot! They get to were little dresses and have cute hair! The only difference really between girls and boys: Girls need more attention. This is true in teenagers as well =).
And… yes… even in adulthood =)
Keeping a little girl happy takes some work from the whole family… Which makes for some awesome interacting pictures! yes… loved.

mmmmmmmm styled session… a thing of beauty

Music playing while blogging this: “help yourself”~ Amy Winehouse

I love it when people bring “props” that are apart of them…. pieces of their lives…. their favorites…. their memories.

Master I have, and I am his man,
Gallop a dreary dun;
Master I have, and I am his man,
And I’ll get a wife as fast as I can;
With a heighly gaily gamberally
Higgledy, piggledy, niggledy niggledy,
gallop a dreary dun.

A warm day, but a beautiful day for a picnic!

My Husband Daniel’s first shoot! He climbs trees and carries bags…. and does a pretty good job shooting.

Lansing family Photographer- Aubrey!

I have a couple families that I have the pleasure of shooting often. The best part about this is I get to watch them grow and become a part of their lives. This is Aub’s 3 session with me!!! Aubrey is different…. She doesn’t pay attention to me like most children do… She is very independent and active. This strangely makes things super easy for me though… I get to capture pure Aub’s. Looking forward to seeing her again!
